I built my first community, a global community of engineers, in 2005. Over the next 10 years, it grew to become Asia’s largest community of engineers.

I built it without ads or events. It was the first time I experienced organic growth: people created content, and that content brought in new people through search and personal referrals. It’s the reason Jatra exists.

Community Moderation Is Challenging

When a community is small, moderation takes work. A moderator typically reads most threads, participates in conversations, and keeps the community clean. At that scale, it’s manageable.

But as the community grows, the problem grows with it. You can no longer read every conversation. A large community also attracts a lot of “human spam.” It’s difficult to detect, and by the time you spot it, the spammers have already done their job.

Miss a weekend of checking your community, and Monday can greet you with 100 posts containing subtle links to spammy websites. I’ve spent hours cleaning up spam and wished someone could help.

Jatra AI: One Person Should Be Able to Manage a Massive Community

That’s our mission. We want moderators and community admins to manage large communities without feeling overwhelmed. AI makes that possible.

Jatra AI is a 24/7 moderator designed to assist you. It doesn’t ban users on its own. It makes an informed guess about what’s spam and what isn’t allowed. We’ve been testing it internally, and we’re very happy with the results so far.
