I’m happy to announce that Jatra has been moved to new infrastructure. This move was well planned and was executed flawlessly.

    Here’s what changed:

    • Higher capacity servers were provisioned.

    • Issues with sitemap generation should be fixed for everyone

    • Overall improvement in site loading speed. We continue to work on this.

    • Enhanced protection from spam-bots. (More in the first reply)

    • Higher storage limits for every customer (no extra charge)

These are some of the improvements available immediately to all of Jatra’s customers. This infra upgrade also prepares us for the upcoming core changes to Jatra platform. In the recent times, we’ve made significant enhancements to Jatra’s core engine and continue to release them behind the scenes.

The biggest challenge was to keep the tenants unaffected during upgrade. We were able to minimize the downtime to about 90 seconds.

    Regarding the attack:

The infrastructure upgrade was a necessary mid-step for the final upgrade we are planning in January 2026. Here's a summary of events:

    1. Jatra's main site and community had a targeted DDoS attack from Indonesia.
    2. While Jatra is capable of handling bot spammers, we were not ready to handle human spammers. Human spammers are impossible to differentiate from regular users. IP-based bans and domain-based bans can be easily surpassed by human spammers.
    3. As a result of continuous posts from spammers, our servers were overloaded. Bulk spam content also had a significant impact on Jatra's official community's SEO.
    4. It became obvious that we were underprepared for such types of attacks and measures had to be taken.
    5. We have therefore planned a strategic move to infrastructure that allows us to handle all types of threats. This move is planned in January. In the meantime, yesterdays' upgrade helps us keep our data safe and secure.
    6. Customer data is backed frequently (every few hours) and is safely stored.
    7. I'll keep everyone posted about the developments.

That said, we are actively working on the promise features for Jatra. I assure you amazing features are planned for arrival in 2026.
