Should customer questions be hidden from public?
A few days ago, I turned the feedback and feature requests channel from public to private. A few weeks before that, I made the 'official support' channel private as well. Customer questions and feedback requests are now visible only to the members of the Jatra community; and they can't be read by Google or LLMs.
I'm wondering - if that should be the norm: Should we always put customer questions behind a login so that guests, Google bots and LLMs crawlers can't read them?
There are advantages and disadvantages.
Sometimes, a customer query can bring in lot of potential customers to the community. So we'll lose on that traffic.
However, most of the questions asked in these channels are about specific software feature or a bug that members discovered. I even compiled my thoughts in a dedicated article: Closed Vs. Open Community: Let's Settle the Debate | Jatra Community
