Forums often receive duplicate questions or requests that have been answered multiple times. I wish to know how do our fellow community owners handle the problem of duplicate content in forums?

We created an FAQ page and listed all the recurring questions. We encouraged users to search the forums before posting a new thread. It helped bring down duplicate question count by nearly 60%.
Whenever someone posted a duplicate question, we'd point them to our FAQ page. However, follow-up questions were answered within the thread.
