Improved Readability

Compared to regular, deeply nested replies and comments; Jatra focuses on improving the readability of conversations.

Especially on displays with limited real estate; we wanted the child replies to retain their readability.

Predictable Structure

The nested replies system is tricker to use. In most of the popular platforms; it can become tricky to locate your exact response after you've posted it, and revisit it in future. Jatra however retains logical nesting so that you can always refer to your replies any time you want.

Three Levels of Nesting

We made a choice to adapt three levels of nesting. Enough for 99.99% of the conversations to keep the discussions on track and avoid spam or off-topic comments in a discussion.

Performance

Performance has always been our top concerns. Typically a functionality like nested replies is associated with degraded query performance.

Jatra's architecture however allows us to release reply nesting without any downgrade in performance.
