Ability to @mention other members
I believe ability to mention other members within discussions or any post types is required. This is a common feature supported by most of the communities and social media platforms. Jatra should have it too.
Here’s how it can work:
User starts typing a post and wants to mention a user within the community
User types ‘@’ followed by the username or real-name of the user
A pop-up appears right at the cursor with suggestions of names starting with the letters typed after @ symbol. For example, if user types @kau - then they are presented with all the users with username or name containing ‘kau’.
Upon typing Enter or Tab key, the selected user’s profile link is created within the post.
Once the user publishes the post, the mentioned user or users are notified through our in-app notification system and email.
