What Is Hyper-Personalization in Community Management and Why Does It Matter?

I’ve been reading a lot about hyper-personalization in the community management; and wanted to hear your perspective.

The way I understand - hyper personalization is about using AI and analyzing member behavior to create unique experience for individuals in community. So, instead of sending the same content to everyone - the platform automatically adapts to what the members need.

I know it’s too much to digest. But we can explore it together.

  1. How would you go about hyper-personalizing user experience in your community?

  2. What kind of outcomes do you expect out of it? More engagement, more users, better loyalty?

Please share if you have implemented any personalization (or hyper personalization) in your community. What worked well and what were the challenges?

    The outcomes I'd expect are -

    • Higher engagement
    • Stronger retention
    • Deeper loyalty

    I am interested in this topic; because it was the main point of our discussion last week. So far, only the outgoing emails are personalized. We have an inner segmentation of the users (our product and community shares the same users). We use it to create personalized emails.

    I am not even sure if hyper personalization is possible on a community platform. @Kaustubh - would love to have your inputs.
