Rohit - social media following is not same as community. A social media following is an audience you talk to (broadcast) while a community is a place where members talk with each other and build connections.
Consider social media like watching a movie with strangers. You all are engaged with the same topic (movie), but there's no interaction among the people. A community, on the other hand, is like a book club where you actively engage with fellow readers, exchange ideas, build bonds around shared interests.
The second striking difference between social media following and community is that social media interactions often lack depth. However, community discussions often go deep into the topic.
Thirdly - Social media following gives you reach. Community gives you loyalty and strong word-of-mouth.
If you are a business - use social media to expand your reach and build a community to build a network.
